John 3:1-3

John 3:1-3

Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

In these verses we read of Nicodemus, a Pharisee & a respected leader, comes to Jesus at night seeking clarity about entering the kingdom of God. Despite his status & knowledge, Nicodemus humbles himself to learn from Jesus, who tells him that no one can see God’s kingdom unless they are born again. This spiritual rebirth, not tied to human effort or lineage, is a work of God, requiring faith & transformation through the Holy Spirit.

Nicodemus’ search for truth reminds us that entering God’s kingdom is not about religious knowledge or good works but a renewed relationship with Him. Like Nicodemus, we must approach Jesus with humility & an open heart. By being born again to experience the life-changing power of God’s Spirit, we are given a new identity & a secure place in His kingdom. Let us seek this spiritual renewal & live as true heirs of God’s promise.

Prayer:
Father, we thank You for the example of Nicodemus, who sought truth & humbly came to Jesus with an open heart. We are reminded that entering Your kingdom is not about our knowledge, efforts, or status but about being born again through the transforming work of Your Holy Spirit. Lord, we confess our need for this spiritual renewal. Help us to approach You with humility, laying aside our pride & preconceived notions, & trusting fully in Your power to transform our hearts. By Your Spirit, grant us a new identity as Your children & the assurance of our place in Your kingdom. May we live each day as true heirs of Your promise, reflecting Your grace & love to the world. Renew us, O Lord, & let our lives bring glory to Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
