John 19:1-30

John 19:1-30

When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished,” and He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. – John 19:30

Today is Good Friday, and we shall continue our scripture reading from where we left off yesterday. I will be reading from John 19:1-30. Let us reflect on the crucifixion of Jesus, remembering the pain and suffering that our Lord Jesus endured for our sake.

Reflection:
What does it mean to you personally that Jesus endured the cross for your sins? Are there areas in your life where you are still trying to earn God’s love, instead of receiving His finished work on the cross?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for us. Today, we remember the pain He willingly endured, all the way to the cross for our sake. He took our place and bore our sin upon Himself, so that we might be cleansed and reconciled to You. Grant us, we pray, a spirit of humility and a heart that is truly contrite, as we reflect on Christ’s sacrifice for us.
In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
